Learning how to deal with anxiety can make a significant difference if you happen to have a lot of fear and worry. Some amount of anxiety is usual. What makes it very painful to manage is your sensitivity and awareness of fearful emotions. Often, an important part of therapy is to build the ability to face and manage difficult mental states such as fear and anxiety.

In order to maneuver through daily life, one has to acquire the capacity to learn how to deal with anxiety. Doing so can be easier if we can let go of goals and priorities, at least at times. Being goal oriented is needed but in order to sustain our way through life, we need to let go of focusing on goals once in a while. If you think about it, we feel most fulfilled when we are certain about the direction we are headed in. If we constantly focus on goals, we are always thinking about what our direction will be, what the problems will be and so on. In letting go of goals and plans, we are able to rest. And that is crucial in order to develop the means and ways for long term movement.

Things happen, and often there is nothing we can do about events unfolding. Being too stubborn in trying to control things makes learning how to deal with anxiety that much harder. If instead, we carve out some time to clearly see what it is that makes our life meaningful, we can effortlessly create a fulfilling life. There is balance in letting go of control. A little bit of reflection will reveal that despite what we do, things can go wrong with something as basic as our own body.

Meaning and purpose can come no matter what is going on, and it makes a great deal of sense in investing to create the ability and the conditions so that we can find meaning in whatever is going on and however we are.
